If you could collaborate with any deceased artist who would it be & why?
I would say Joe Meek – it would be amazing to have him record and produce us in his flat/studio. I’m sure he could get some beautiful, other wordly sounds out of our synths and drum machines using his unique recording techniques.
Who & what inspires you?
Everything in some form inspires us. Being on tour right now and seeing new places, meeting new people and hearing new music had been very inspiring and we’re looking forward to putting that into our next work.
You recently released the Submersion EP and the excellent Only Now Forever LP last year. Are we going to see more new music in 2020?
Yeah, hopefully. We always try to work on new music when we’re not touring, but it’s important for us that our sound develops and that we do something new with each release, rather than releasing for the sake of it.
If you could soundtrack a film who would be your top two directors?
We’re lucky enough to have already collaborated on a music video with one of our favorite directors – Peter Strickland, but to work with him again would be great. The second would be Ben Wheatley, we love his work!
Best show you’ve seen in London & what made it so?
There’s been so many, but seeing Spiritualized perform ‘Ladies & Gentlemen…’ with orchestra at The Barbican was a very special experience.
